It looks like finally the new flying train cars have arrived at Knoebels.
If all goes well then it look like we might be in for a 2010 opening after all!

More progress has been made on the Flying turns.
We were at the park today and they were doing testing of various train bodies on the newly finished lift 3 and entrance to lift 2. The trains were again making complete circuits, which is very promising for the future of the flying turns.
The track has been varnished to protect it from wear in anticipation of the new trains arriving.A new structure is being built over the brake run as a roof for both the brakes and new transfer areas.
At this point the park is still waiting for the final chassis to arrive. Once they do arrive they still need to do testing, and complete the car bodies. While they are hopeful for possibly a late season opening, the ride will be ready to roll at worst come next season. We will let you know if we receive any updates.

Please note: The trains that you see here are just for testing and do not represent the final version in any way.

We have found this picture online of the layout of the Kozmo's Kurves coaster.
We can not verify its source, but based on the footers it does appear to be legitimate.
There is no track or trains on site that we are aware of, and if anyone spots any please let us know!

Finally time for another construction update on the Flying Turns.
What we do know is there there is no scheduled opening date and the only comment from the park that has been released is that it will "open when its ready"
Here is what we do know has been done over the off-season and early season...
Transfer Track Removed
The track on the outside of the first helix has been removed and the transfer is being moved.

New Transfer Track
A new transfer track has been created next to the old brake run and the roof has been removed:
Final Lift Hill Reprofiled
The final lift hill between the brake run and the lift hill has been completely removed and is being reprofiled. It is being built using a side-friction style track instead of the old funnel style track.
Track Reprofiled
Some of the sections of the main trough have been reprofiled. We have been told that the trains have been reaching tracking too high in the trough and that they were getting too close to the bumper walls in parts
Various Trains on Site
Various trains and train configurations are on site. There is a set in the station and in the brake run.
That's all for now. We will keep you up to date as we get more information.

We have a small construction update on the flying turns.
As of just a few weeks ago, the transfer track structure that was in place has been removed. Also the transfer track itself at the base of the main lift has also been removed.
What does this all mean? As of now there is no official word on reason or a new scheduled opening date for the flying turns. We will keep you updated as we get more information.
